The experience of a trance medium
Experiencing a trance medium can be scary and... transformative.
Ted, the medium, would go into a trance and become another distinct personality – different voice, different demeanor, different inflection. The personalities changed depending on the situation and the questions.
Over several years, Ted gave my new wife and me many readings.
The most significant of which was a picture of my life: past, present, future.
At that time, I was approaching the end of my FedEx experience. I was very much involved with jobs creation in Memphis, Tennessee.
I was a co-founder of the Memphis Uniport Association, a volunteer organization designed to create national awareness of Memphis as “America’s Distribution Center.”
It was an amazing effort involving dozens of volunteers from every segment of Memphis politics and distribution. Over the next several years, the effort produced over 50,000 warehousing and distribution jobs as Nike, Williams-Sonoma and many other major companies established distribution centers in Memphis.
I nearly became Mayor of Memphis as a result of this work.
As I look back, Uniport is what I am most proud of in my career. Interesting that I am most proud of something I was never paid to do.
But again – incredible success but little fulfillment. Still not enough!
Back to my life’s picture...
Ted described my past life as moving up a series of five distinctly different stone steps – each a different color and pattern. Those steps described my life’s experience to that point. Pre-teen and teen years; My Vermont summers and college, UPS, consulting, Uniport, and FedEx experiences. His descriptions were disturbingly accurate.
