A while back I lost a great friend, Nelson. Of all the friends in life, Nelson was the most loving man I had known. He was like a second father. Full of wisdom and unconditionally loving.
Tag It
I feel a deep sense of grief.
Feel It
It still brings tears to my eyes when I think about the many times he gave of his love and wisdom. I feel as sense of guilt having left him as he was nearing his transition. I didn’t call him as much as I might have to express to him all he meant to me.
Love It
It is good to feel that level of emotion and compassion. I relish the memories of a man so important to my life.
When do I flee?
This exercise came from David Leppert (Chapter 5). I had asked David how he identifies his feelings. He suggested the following exercise. On a regular basis (three times a day) ask yourself:
