When do I flee?
What am I running from in my life right now? What am I trying to avoid? What do I actively move away from (physically, emotionally, cognitively, relationally)? How do I do this? How do I numb myself?
Generally this will surface feelings that normally go unrecognized.
On the other side of emotions, ask these questions:
When do I deepen?
Under what conditions do I connect? With others? With myself?
Getting close to your feelings has been shown to help getting close to Your Leader Within.
Gazing Exercise
World renown artist, Spar Street (profiled in Chapter 5) highly recommends this exercise. I have used it several times, but not to Spar’s 30-minute recommendation.
It is an exercise that will clarify those buried fears and other emotions that get in the way of your living a happy and fulfilling life. The exercise is simple, but it does require a great deal of commitment.
