CKA’s 30th Anniversary Celebration!
“Pearls and Twirls”
Saturday, March 2, 6:30 p.m.
Thirty years ago our congregation was
known as JCASW - the Jewish Community
Association of Southwest Washington. We
started as a small group of Jews who celebrated holi- days together, then we began educating our children and having lay-led services. Fast forward many years... we affiliated with URJ and hired our first rabbi. Then in 2012 we opened our own synagogue.
Let’s celebrate together!
Please join us for an evening of music, dancing, fancy attire (if you are so inclined), and heavy appetizers.
Cost is $25 per person; $40 for two, so bring a friend! Please sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/CKA30th Adults only please; child care available with prior reservation
Advocate for the Homeless February 10, 10:15 a.m. – noon
Kate Budd, executive director of Council for the Homeless, will show a video about the challenges homeless women face, and then share some ways we can become stronger advocates for those who live on the edge. We will learn about some of the issues before our legislature, and the ways we can be the most effective with our time and our funds. This is an interactive event open to men, women, and teens.
In support of this presentation, we are accepting donations of feminine hygiene products. Cash/ check donations are also welcome (make checks out to Council for the Homeless, memo “hygiene”).
