Lastly, an informational piece regarding HARO will be submitted by July 25, 2020, for publication
consideration in the Vehicle Crimes Today newsletter as well as by September 15, 2020, for publication
consideration in the APB magazine. As a reminder, HARO, which stands for “Help A Reporter Out” (HARO),
is a reputable and verified website that allows experts to connect with reporters on an international level.
The article will encourage IAATI members to register with HARO as a “source” from the International
Association of Auto Theft Investigators and will provide instructions on how to do so. Once registered,
members will receive a daily list of topics for which reporters are attempting to find experts for comment.
If any topics relating to vehicle crimes appear, our members will be able to respond and contribute to the
media piece as a member of IAATI, thus giving our association publicity. Registering for the basic level of
HARO is completely free.
