• Burning with urination
• Dyspareunia
• Bleeding after intercourse
• Pelvic pain in many instances the woman is a symptomatic but may report
symptoms in her partner, especially painful urination, or urethral discharge.
Nursing plan and implementation:
The nurse provides the woman who has a STDs with information about the
infection, method of transmission, implications for pregnant or future fertility, and
important of thorough treatment. if treatment of her partner is indicated, the woman
must understand that it is necessary to prevent a cycle of reinfection. she should
also understand the need to abstain from sexual activity, if necessary, during
treatment.
The nurse can be helpful in encouraging the woman to explore her feelings
about the diagnosis. The nurse can offer suggestions about support group and assist
the woman in planning for her future with regard to sexual activity.
Evaluation:
Expected outcomes of nursing care including the following:
• The infection is identified and cured, if possible, if not, supportive therapy
is provided.
• The woman and her partner can describe the infection, its method of
transmission, its implications, and the therapy.
• The woman copes successfully with the impact of the diagnosis on her self-
concept.
