                   Nursing Assessment and Diagnosis



                              The nurse working with women must become adept to taking a thorough

                   history and identifying women at risk for sexually transmitted diseases. risk factors

                   include multiple sexual partners, a partner’s involvement with other partners. the

                   nurse should be alert for signs and symptoms of STDS  and be familiar with

                   diagnostic procedure itself it is suspected.


                   The following complains suggest the possibility of infection and warrant further

                   investigation:


                       •  Presence of a sore or lesion on the vulva


                       •  Increased vaginal discharges
