Need a field trip idea or want to get your
art on? ART & ALGORITHMS Oct. 11-16 in Titusville, is a digital art festival, but maybe not the kind you’d expect. There are no rows of little white tents – but instead art that you can touch, change, and bring to life.
Need a reason to make the trip? Here are a few:
• Temperatures will be pleasant; nice to be roaming Sand Point Park in Titusville.
• It’s interactive play. Put your hands in the sand at Augmented Reality Sandbox.
• TheVRLab,withlotsofvirtualrealitypre-loaded cool videos, and Google Tilt Brush fun including special demonstrations. See Derek Gores (and other excellent artists) use Tilt Brush.
• Meet Jen Lewin, artist who created THE POOL— more than 100 circular pads you step on to create art (sound, light, color) by yourself or with many others. (See photo above.)
• Learn to paint digitally in a Corliss Blakely digital painting workshop.
• EnterARBORIA,another-worldlyexperience--a 170 ft. long luminarium, one of the world’s largest.
• See films at 2nd Stage Downtown and on the green in the park, for day or night viewing ...bring your blanket, or chairs; hang out.
• Everythingiswalkingdistancetodowntown Titusville. Get your art on, then put your feet up.
• There are things you have not seen before, and people who are thinking about things in ways you have not considered. It’s hands-on interaction and an inspiring hoot.
• Andifyouwanttovolunteertohelpatthe festival, contact Cathy Musselman at Greater Titusville Renaissance: cathy@greatertitusville. com.
