Curriculum
Working with campus administration, ILT, and our staff, work continues within course teams to
identify priority standards for the first and second semester. The work will align with the professional
development and resources provided by Academic Approach. Academic Approach has analyzed our
data and determined our district’s Power Standards. These Power Standards are required for all course
teams in addition to the other standards identified. The work will lead to the creation of 4 assessments
aligned to PSAT standards and provide data for course teams. This data will inform instruction and
guide PLC discussion and lesson modification.
The district is working towards rebranding the curriculum handbook. We have identified key
components reflective of our current academy structure and will work throughout the semester to
develop a handbook that is informative and user-friendly for parents, students, and staff. The online
version will have interactive links for an enhanced experience.
The district earned College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award. Currently AP
Computer Science Principles has 14 students enrolled with 50% of the class being female.

Working with District 163, we are piloting the career exploration software Major Clarity. 8 and 9
grade students will take a career interest and learning style assessment to find “best-fit” careers. The
students will engage in hands-on activities and learn about various careers identified by the
assessment.
Math and Reading teachers continue to work with CTE teachers after school to support the
implementation of reading and math strategies intended for students to master skills.
CTE teachers will be provided PD on the VR equipment at the STEM campus. These resources will
provide CTE students a hands-on virtual experience for the transportation and health science classes.
