Art & Communication - STEM
• With the exclusion of final exams, the last two weeks of first semester were identified as
enrichment days. This provided a final chance for student to improve their semester
grades. Enrichment days provide an opportunity to reteach, revise, review, and resubmit
assignments. Before the enrichment days started on December 7, 2020, RTHS recorded 3,417
failing grades. At the conclusion of the enrichment days that number decreased by nearly half
to 1,628 failing grades.
• The Key Club Holiday Can Drive was a success. The drive was held on December 18th. The
club surpassed their goal and collected a total of 1,254 cans. The group that donated the most
cans was the soccer team.
• The Rich Township speech team continues to excel in their competition season. On December
19th, the team participated in the Coal City High School Competition. The team is proud to
report that they received awards in the following categories: dramatic interpretation,
impromptu speaking, poetry, and prose reading.
• The Rich Township Raptor Scholastic Bowl Team is off to an incredible start. They have
experienced three wins so far, and now they are heading to the conference championship.
• On Christmas Day, the Rich Township High School music department released their first
virtual holiday concert. The performance can be found on the YouTube page.
