A Class of 2020 Senior Celebration Parade was on Thursday, May 21. Numerous staff met in the Rich
Central parking lot to decorate their vehicles. Cars lined up to drive around our communities to celebrate our
graduating class. It was wonderful to see students, parents, and other community members outside as we
drove past.
End of year checkout for staff was May 19-22 and May 26-29. We assigned staff dates to be in the building
to clean their rooms, gather belongings, and return keys.
Rich Central has two retirees this year. Kim Jones (17 years) and Marjorie Whittle (18 years). Each retiree
received a gift and bouquet of flowers.
Rich South - Varn
Rich South is pleased to report that 197 seniors met the requirements for graduation. This means that the
one-year graduation stands at 96.5%. We are very proud of our graduates and wish them well in their next
stage of life.
On May 21 and May 26, Rich South recorded its graduation ceremony. Only eight graduates did not
participated in the ceremony. Fifteen students picked up their diploma and opted not to walk across the stage.
Rich South has continued to meet with faculty and staff weekly via Zoom. The final staff meeting of the
year was on Tues. May 26. We wish our staff a safe and relaxing summer.
Certified staff members were allowed to pack up their classrooms and take home all personal belongings.
Boxes have been labeled and are ready to be moved to the respective campus for the 2020-2021 school year.
May 12-15, students were allowed to pick up personal belongings that might have been left in their lockers
prior to the closure. Each grade level was assigned a designated date and time to pick up their belongings.
Any items left in the locker was boxed up and the box was given to the student.
617 students completed semester 2 with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Our semester honor roll is 75% of our
student body. We celebrate these students’ academic achievements.
Sue Lundgren has been named the 2019-2020 Rich South Teacher of the Year. This is her second time
earning this designation. Ms. Lundgren is a social studies teacher and tech coach at Rich South. She has

Marie Grillo has been named the 2019-2020 Staff Member of the Year. She is our building foreperson. Ms.
Grillo is the first female foreperson in the school’s history. She ensures that the school is safe, clean, and
orderly for our students and staff.
Rich East - Garrett
Rich East closed the school year off like no other year. Classes met virtually one last time to say
goodbye to classmates and teachers and turn in assignments on May 21. Staff met for the final time
on May 26 to say their final goodbyes to school year 19-20. It was definitely one for the record
books and we coordinated 36 days of virtual teaching and learning. We closed off the end of the
year with our virtual graduation videotaping where almost 140 graduating seniors participated in
