Graduation
Graduation took place May 27-May 28 at Rich East High School. 139 out of 188 seniors
participated. Seniors who participated were able to take two photos with their diploma, one photo
with their parents and say a final few words at a video station. The Annual Academics and Sports
Awards Ceremony which was cancelled due to Covid-19, was converted into a video in order to
acknowledge our students achievements. It was edited by our very own Matthew Shank. A special
thanks to Mr. Coughlin. He suggested the idea of a “Rich East Strong” mask. Each senior and
graduation participant received and used them during the graduation ceremony. The video was
displayed in two locations on smart boards both days. ABC Channel 7 News also interviewed a few
students and parents.
SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
Our special education team has weekly virtual meetings, with about 38 attendees, regarding
delivery of services, support for students in general education classes, and creative ways to
differentiate instruction. Teachers of specialized populations go above and beyond in meeting the
unique needs of our students. When schoology does not yield the best results, you can find them
