Rich South - Varn

                  1. All twelve-month employees have safely returned to work. Several precautionary measures
have been put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We are checking body
temperature upon entry of the building, practicing social distancing, and wearing face masks
in common areas. All work areas are sanitized regularly.
                  2. Construction on the campus is continuing to progress. Demolition is complete and new. The
latest project to get underway is the installation of new air conditioning units.
                  3. All new administrators for the Southern Campus have transitioned into their role, and are
preparing for the opening of the 2020-2021 school year.
                  4. International Baccalaureate teachers have been trained in creating curriculum to support the
program. Teachers will spend the remainder of the summer, creating lessons aligned to the
IB curriculum maps. We are looking forward to the inaugural IB cohort of students.
                  5. STAR Academy teachers are also engaging in training to provide support to our STAR
students in the fall. Teachers are becoming familiar with the blending learning model and
strategies to engage students. The STAR Academy is expected to double the enrollment in
the fall to nearly 160 students.

               Rich East - Garrett

Rich East officially closes its doors on June 30. We will continue to distribute meals on Mondays
at East for families in the community as we did through the month of June.

               HEALTH & WELLNESS

PE teachers have spent the month of June working on creating Flex Mod curriculum changes and
Remote Learning lessons that are more engaging.

STEM - updated through June 24

We have successfully assigned all of the courses identified in the tally process, and there is
probably a need to hire within science.

Project Lead the Way teachers have started their professional development for the upcoming roll
out this year. We are offering two PLTW classes this fall and are anxious to expand our offerings
               in the future.
Girls STEAM Ahead Success had a district debriefing meeting. An idea to incorporate more of our
D227 grads as mentors arose. As a result, Ms. Stone was able to get in touch with a variety of
graduates, including Tavia Smith, who works in electrical engineering. Her company is interested
in flying out some of its employees to talk to our students about engineering. The idea of
mentoring via Zoom has been intriguing to many people.

               Humanities Division Update

Summer Break did not stop our teachers from working on behalf of our students and student
               success.
