Grants
The Office of Educational Services in partnership with Thornton Township High School district 205,
Loyola University, Northern Illinois University, Prairie State College and the Golden Apple Scholars
Program applied for the Scaling Education Pathways of Illinois Grant. The Scaling Education
Pathways in Illinois initiative focuses on implementing the College and Career Pathway Endorsement
(CCPE) requirements for Education Pathways, which include early college credits, transitional
instruction, and work-based learning in addition to traditional coursework. The Scaling Education
Pathways in Illinois will ensure high school students in the Education Pathway graduate better
prepared for postsecondary academic work, particularly within education degree programs. This
preparedness supports students in completing an education degree program and pursuing a career as a
teacher.
Graduation
The graduation planning committee met this month to plan for both a traditional ceremony as well as a
virtual ceremony. The committee also reviewed samples of gowns, diplomas and covers for the new
district colors and branding.
