The Communications Department identified its web development and content management system
for District 227’s digital rebranding efforts: eSchoolView, which is our current provider. Our app
provider, SchoolInfoApp, is a preferred partner of eSchoolView, which enables our app to sync
with our website as new information is added or removed. After discussing the potentiality of
integrating SchoolInfoApp with prospective content management systems Edlio, Finalsite, and
American Eagle, it was determined that the integration is not possible. The Communications
Department will continue to use eSchoolView as a web development and content management
system. It will work with developers to ensure rebranding efforts are on-track for a July 1 transition.
In collaboration with the Donovan Group, the Communications Department published three press
releases in February 2020: “Rich Strong” South Suburban Choir Gala recap, board’s approval of
new boundaries and Director of Curriculum and Data Jeff Bonomo’s College Board recognition.
The “Rich Strong” recap published in the Daily Southtown on February 27, 2020. The Chicago
Heights – Patch picked up the article covering the district’s new boundaries on February 24, 2020.

In partnership with the Donovan Group and the Human Resources Office, marketing collateral was
created and distributed for the March 28, 2020, Teacher Job Fair hosted by the Superintendents’
Commission for the Study of Demographics and Diversity. Promotional flyers were distributed to
regional colleges and universities. An advertisement will run in the Chicago Tribune on 3/11, 3/18,
and 3/25, and in the Daily Southtown on 3/8, 3/15, and 3/22.

In late January 2020, the Communications Department distributed a printed newsletter that was
mailed to all homes in the Rich Township community. It can be inferred that our print marketing
efforts have helped increase our digital audience size and reach. On February 1, 2020, the district’s
Facebook page had a total of 1,085 page followers. By February 29, 2020, the page had grown to
1,307 followers. On February 12, 2020, the district's Facebook page announced the district’s band
performance at a pre-Mardi Gras parade, and the post reached over 12,500 people and was shared
by over 95 people. After reviewing Facebook analytics through the page’s creation in 2016, it was
determined that the February 12 post was the most engaging post in the page’s history.

In March 2020, the Communications Department will work to create a digital hub for Transition
Guide documents, finalize the March 2020 newsletter, collaborate with Educational Services and
the Director of Athletics, Activities, and Transportation. To ensure information regarding transition
initiatives will be available at March 19-20, 2020 parent-teacher conferences, and announce the
               district’s mascot finalist.
