Our CTE instructor, Mike Archbold received the Business Professional Association Illinois
               Outstanding Advisor Award on February 29.  He was then able to award a $500 scholarship to
               senior Kaelin Dean for her participation and achievement in BPA.
               Student vs. Teacher Scholastic Bowl - February 26

               The district-wide choir gala occurred February 7 for District 227 and our feeder schools.  Our
               Athletic Director and Division Leader of Physical Education, Matt Shank, was a major coordinator
               of this event.

               The Rich East Chess Team participated in the State competition on Feb. 14th - 15th

               Junior Sidney Williams and Senior Kaelin Dean participated in the state  BPA competition  Feb.
               26th  -29th

               Senior Amari Moore made it to the state qualifying meet for Wrestling Feb. 20th - 22nd

               Freshmen Naia Sutton participated in the State Sectionals 3-point showdown for Girls Basketball
               on February 27

               The Rich East Wrestling Team had the following students compete in State Sectionals Feb 14-Feb
               15: Aiyanna Williams, Joey George, Dharon Johnson, Kaylon Vaughn, Darcell Velez Ray, Julian
               Imoniruwe, Daron Davis, Amari Moore, Amar Hollins

               SafeServ Certification’s are almost complete in our culinary classes
               We are halfway through the certifications in our business classes

               OSHA10 Certification process has started

               This semester’s CNA and EMT programs have started.

               The band participated

               The Culture and Climate Team and the police liaison participated in professional development
               regarding Crisis Prevention.
               The Counseling Team all received training to become facilitators for Rainbows for All and SSET
               (Support for Students Exposed to Trauma)

               On February 21 the AP Art and Design students attended and showcased their work at the South
               Suburban College Art Exhibit.  Junior Armondo Davis won Best in School at the festival.
