Department of Business Computing
Department Introduction
In our department, students will be taught and trained to apply innovative information technology to the business
managements of various enterprises, especially with an emphasis on the marine enterprises. Professional knowledge
of marine business has been given so that our graduates will become prefessional persons of information technology
in marine business.
The Aims of Education
1. Train students to be the professionals in information technology and to reinforce the ability of information
management in marine enterprises.
2. Train students to have capabilities to plan, develop and manage the industry empirical system.
3. Train students to emphasize the integration of theory and practice.
4. Lay the foundation of future jobs and further research for students.
Department Features
Undergraduate
1. Strengthen the linguistic competence and humanistic quality.
2. Lay the foundation for basic ability of science.
3. Develop the capability of information management and applications.
4. Strengthen the capability for integration of IT technology.
5. Develop the application ability for marine enterprises.
Graduate
1. Develop the capabilities for information integration and management.
2. Strengthen the capabilities for technology innovation and applications.
3. Develop the capabilities for management and decision analysis.
Career Directions
Graduates of the department can work in various fields as follows but not restricted to:
1.School or research institution: information-related faculty and researchers of National Center of IT Research.
2.Institution of MIS: information system management staffs, database engineers, RD engineers, website engineers,
algorithm engineers.
3.Government institution: information officers, Information security officers, MIS staffs.
4.Enter local or overseas management- and information-related graduate schools and Ph.D. programs.
