Leisure Management

The Educational System
(1)The Courses of Technological Academy of Four Years System in the daytime.
(2)The Courses of Technological Academy of Four Years System in the nighttime.
(3)The Courses of graduate institute of Two Years System in the daytime.

Goals of Education
The goals of education in Department of Marine Leisure Management accord with policies of government developing
marine resources and marine leisure enterprises. We aim at cultivating students to possess of the professional
knowledge in domains of leisure management, marine leisure resources management, and marine leisure sports and
also international point of view. The educational goal of Department of Marine Leisure Management is below:
(1)Cultivate abilities of teachers and students doing the research, creating and reforming industrial circles.
(2)Strengthen the cooperation with industrial circles to help students possess of high quality abilities to supply human
resources.
(3)Aim at domains of leisure management, marine leisure resources management, and marine leisure sports; cultivate
professional human resources of marine leisure management; promote marine culture in Taiwan.

Curriculum Information
According to the importance to develop enterprises of marine leisure management, the National Kaohsiung
University of Science and Technology which is located in the marine city Kaohsiung, as an institute of higher
learning should be responsible to cultivate professional human resources of marine leisure management. Combining
with the policy of school, the curriculums also aim at domains of leisure management, marine leisure resources
management, and marine leisure sports for cultivating professional human resources to promote service quality of
enterprises. The main curriculum can be divided into three domains as below:
(1)The Field of Leisure Management: including the curriculum of Administrative Theory, Economics, Enterprise
Survey Course, Statistics, Human Resource Management, Financial Accounting, Leisure Traveling Survey
Course, and Marketing Management.
(2)The field of Marine Resources Management: including the curriculum of Oceanography, Marine Ecology, Marine
Travelling, Marine Leisure Resources Planning and Management, Ecotourism, and Dynamic Dinghy.
(3)The field of Marine Leisure Sports: including the curriculum of Swimming, Aquatic Safe and First Aid, Sea
Kayaking, Scuba Diving Theory and Operation, Aquatic Oxygen Sport, Surfing, Windsurfing Theory and
Operation, Water Motorboat, and Gorge-Walking.

Career Directions
(1)Careers Development: Students can devote themselves into domestic and international careers of marine leisure
athletics club, yacht business, athletics business, hotel, tourism, leisure center, theme park, marine sports business,
athletics healthy consultative business, public office.
(2)Further Education: Postgraduate of Marine Leisure Management Department in NKUST, or domestic and
international postgraduate in the fields of leisure, tourism, hotel management, marine sports, and health
management.
