Mukund Das Ji was an extremely diligent and persistent person. We knew him to
be righteous and to have never compromised on his beliefs.
His command over the Hindi language was unsurpassed. Our family seeked his
help numerous times when we needed to express our thoughts in Hindi.
He was a father and a mentor to Suniti and taught her many valuable lessons of life.
We, as a family are proud to have been in his presence and cherish the times spent with him.
- Krishna Kumar Kalyani, Jalpaiguri
Even though a year has passed but it's still hard to come to terms with the sudden
unexpected untimely passing away of Masaji.
He made his presence felt everywhere not only because of his handsome looks
but his intellect too. The one memory we have of Masaji is, him taking out his phone
book and talking to everyone on his trips to Gurgaon and Mirzapur. His command on
language was such that we had to find a dictionary to understand the meaning of the
words on the cards.... which were received on every occasion and festival. We remember
his passion during our conversation... may the topic be politics... religion.. or health. He
always had a very positive outlook and a warm personality. His spirit of never giving up
was an inspiration to us all. Masaji will always remain in our hearts.

My learning from my Masaji when he was at the Bombay Hospital is
“Decisions should be based on reasoning and discussions, not on mere emotions !”

It all started in December 1966 when I was in Mirzapur and suddenly I was told to go to
Jabalpur for the Tilak ceremony of Jijaji as Hemant Bhaiya was not in India. Also I had
to go to Rewa to arrange snacks for the Barat which halted there midway, on it’s way to
Mirzapur. This was the time the bonding with Jijaji started as I was the only person from
Maheswari family to represent at both the times. Since then the bondness and warmth
started taking shape with Jijaji. We had telephonic conversations at regular intervals
throughout his life. I had a chance to attend the Navneet’s marriage as well as the 175th
year of Gopallalji Paat-Utsav. He was a great person to be with and we have always
enjoyed his company. He will always remain in our heart and memories.
