Work accidents are prone to occur in construction projects that are not entirely
caused by the workers themselves, but also project conditions and management
commitments. The works are still considered a heavy, rough job and male
workers dominated. The studies are carried out before and during the pandemic
time in North Sumatra. These studies aim (1) to evaluate the application of OHS
procedures, (2) to what extent the companies implement protocols to prevent
the spread of COVID-19 in the projects, (3) the health facilities in the construction
project. The studies indicated that the level of compliance of contractor in
implementing OHS in construction projects is still low. During the pandemic, the
study showed that three constructions projects had implemented the protocol
by project’s various parties. This study also found that there were differences in
the implementation of health protocols in large-scale projects with central
government funding and small-scale projects with community funding sources.
