Work motivation is encouragement both from inside and outside individual

employees in carrying out work activities. Good motivation has long been known

as a motivator for employees to have better performance. Organizations that can

compete are organizations that have professionally managed human resources.

This study looks at the difference between work motivation of employees

according to gender. This study was aimed to see the effect of work motivation

on employee's work performance. The sample of this study was 70 employees at

the Agricultural Quarantine Centre Class I Pekanbaru. A quantitative was used in

this study. The purposive sampling method and SEM (Structural Equation

Modelling) analysis were used to gather this study's data. Furthermore, the results

of this study indicate that work motivation has a significant effect on employee's

work performance. The findings revealed that male employees were more

motivated to work and have higher average scores than female employees.

However, other effects might have a significant effect on employee's work

                 performance.
