That will be presented in the form of this story is based on the experience of action
research conducted since 2019 in three districts / cities, namely in Samarinda City,

East Kutai Regency and Bontang City as story locus. The phenomenon of women

working outside the home is no longer a foreign subject. The existence of women

plays more than one role becomes mandatory because of the issue of various factors,

such as economic issues in family resilience. Psychological and economic factors that

cause women to act as the head of the family. The head of the family is the woman

who performs the roles and responsibilities as the breadwinner, the household

manager, the guardian of the continuity of family life and the decision-maker in the

family. The fact that women as the head of the family occupies a central and

strategic position in order to establish the life of a family. Reality shows that women

head of families in their activities prone to face various problems such as poverty,

violence, troubled children to various diseases, this is due to economic factors. Low

income because it only works as a seller of fried foods, vegetables and crackers.

Economic entanglement factors and weak skills possessed so choose to sell. Their

lack of understanding and ignorance of market share and the lack of networks or

access that can be used to sell their products resulted in low selling value of their

productions and the increasing dominance of middlemen as distributors of

production and low protection of local government in improving women's standard

of living and the absence of empowerment activities involving women.

The issue that occurs that many women head poor families who have economic

efforts have a very significant role in the fulfillment of family living. The women head

families in three districts / cities have a sense of responsibility to a large family. This

can be illustrated enthusiastically by the women head of household willing to work

from morning to night to make a living although sometimes the results are

disappointing. But one achievement for women is that the desire to meet the needs

                      of family life has become

a fundamental principle that the responsibility lies with her. Therefore they hold the

principle as low and as low as any form of work that is important in the future halal

results. Here's a snippet of an interview of one of the women's heads of household

"We never thought eating perfect as long as there was rice and tempeh, for us it was

perfect. The most important thing there is rice can certainly be juxtaposed with

oseng-oseng kangkung if there is as a vegetable but if there is no salt we use mixed

rice, for us it is perfect. The important thing in a day we can eat. For tomorrow we

                      don't know.

Based on the results of observations and interviews, economically poverty that occurs

in women head of households because:a) There has not been good management of

the government related to human resources so that mentoring does not run

optimally, b) The lack of land assets, decent homes for families, erratic salaries that

interfere with the activities of women householdheads, c) The lack of business capital

that is currently run, economic activities carried out with rough capital,d) No business

facilities, women head of households only rely on capital assistance.
