ANTI-FATIGUE LENS
Increased computer time, electronic games and other work and leisure
modes have created for ergonomic products to reduce the various kinds of
eye strain. Essilor’s new anti-fatigue lens is the first single vision lens
designed to reduce the eyestrain for the population of 20 to 45 years of age
and has produced excellent results. Studies have shown that this age group
has been identified as suffering extensively from visual fatigue. The lens is
designed to relieve the symptoms of visual fatigue as headache, itchy eyes,
reddening and blurred vision.
The lenses support the wearers accommodation efforts with an
additional plus power at the bottom of the lens (+ 0.60 D). This provides a
greater level of comfort for the wearer as the natural accommodation pattern
is retained. At the same time Essilor’s anti–fatigue lenses are not progressive
lenses and hence have none of the limitations inherent in the design of
progressive lenses. The lens design allows clear far vision and at the same
