HOW CAN YOU
take notes faster?
Personal shorthand is a practical intelligence strategy for writing faster. Because
you are the only intended reader, you can misspell and abbreviate words in ways that
only you understand. A risk of using shorthand is that you might forget what your own
writing means. To avoid this problem, review your notes shortly after class and prop-
erly spell any words that are confusing.
The following suggestions will help you master shorthand. Many will be familiar
