Every Saturday morning, I go straight to Mrs Soh’s
legendary wanton stall at Bukit Canberra Hawker Centre.
The long line of people is always expected, but I still join
the queue happily because I know her food is worth the
wait.
I have been going to her stall for many weeks, and I never
get tired of eating her wanton noodles. One Saturday,
I finally got brave enough to ask, “Auntie, how do you
make all these yummy bowls of wanton noodles?”
She smiled and said kindly, “I put all my heart and love
into every bowl of wanton noodles I make, so I can give
the public one of the best bowls to eat and enjoy.”
Those words stayed in my mind.
Each wanton is mouthwatering. They are soft, juicy, and Mrs Soh’s wanton noodles do more than fill my tummy.
