“Ah boy, your special char kway teow with no beef is
here!” said my favourite hawker. This is the habit of
my family. Every Saturday, we go to the hawker centre
near Compass One and indulge in some delicious and
            affordable dishes.

Without fail, we will go to the exact hawker centre to get
food. Even if there is heavy rain, we will make sure we
            indulge in these gastronomical delights.

My go-to dishes will be fried or steamed dumplings,
carrot cake and cream of mushroom soup. I do not have
a specification for dumplings. But I prefer black carrot
cake to white carrot cake because black has more flavour
            compared to white.

We must treasure our hawker culture.
The government gives Singapore citizens CDC vouchers
to buy food at hawker centres to support them. During “Rain or shine, we go back to our hawker
