     Student's Reflection
As one of the original team members, I have had the privilege of being involved in this project from its inception.
Initially, there were four Year 1 students on board, but unfortunately, two of my friends left the team due to other
commitments. However, we managed to recruit additional students as the project progressed.
Throughout this journey, I dedicated myself to ensuring the success of our initiative. Almost daily, I would return
to campus to conduct experiments with solar panels or prepare presentations for key stakeholders, even when
there were no scheduled classes that day. This experience taught me a great deal about perseverance and time
management, skills that will undoubtedly benefit my academic pursuits. Moreover, this project provided me with
invaluable opportunities to expand my knowledge and gain practical experience in project execution. I had the
privilege of visiting various industries, including METech Recycling company, and meeting influential individuals
such as the Senior Minister of Sustainability and the Environment. These encounters not only broadened my
understanding of sustainability but also instilled a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship.

2Yr HNitec in As we finally implemented our solar panel system, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment knowing that
Electronics Engineering our hard work over the past year had culminated in a tangible outcome. I am thoroughly pleased with the project's
ITE College West success and hope that it will serve as inspiration to future students, motivating them to strive for excellence in
                                their own projects.
Participating in the Solar-Powered Smart E-Waste Machine project, in collaboration with METech Recycling, NYAA,
HSBC, and ITE, has been an incredibly enriching experience. This initiative allowed me to delve into the intersection
of technology and sustainability, tackling the critical issue of e-waste through innovation.
As a member of the team from the outset, I had the opportunity to contribute to the project's development and
growth. With guidance from the teachers and METech Recycling, I gained a deeper understanding of the project's
details and was able to leverage my public speaking skills to pitch the Solar-Powered Smart E-Waste Machine
project to prominent individuals, such as Dr. Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Transport and Senior Minister
of State for Sustainability and the Environment.
Overall, I am grateful for having been part of this project, as it has significantly enhanced my knowledge in my
Gerald Chua Peng course and broadened my understanding of electronics. Moreover, it has provided me with opportunities to
Hong interact with a diverse range of people, from company owners to ministers. I hope that this project will serve as a
2Yr HNitec in stepping stone for others in the future to develop their own innovative ideas.

Joining the Solar-Powered Smart E-Waste Machine project midway through its development was an exciting
experience. At first, I felt like I had to get up to speed quickly in order to make meaningful contributions.
As I began working with my teammates and mentors at METech Recycling, I realized that everyone was eager
to share their knowledge and expertise. This collaborative environment allowed me to learn from others while
also sharing my own skills and perspectives. One of the most valuable aspects of this project for me was the
opportunity to apply theoretical concepts learned in class to real-world problems. Working on a tangible project
like the Solar-Powered Smart E-Waste Machine has given me hands-on experience with electronics, programming,
                                and design thinking.
Throughout the project, I had to navigate challenges such as conflicting opinions and tight deadlines. However,
these experiences taught me valuable lessons about adaptability, creativity, and effective communication. As we
Lim Yu Heng Marcus neared the completion of our project, I reflected on how far I'd come since joining the team halfway through. I
2Yr HNitec in was proud of what we'd accomplished together, from designing and building prototypes to testing and refining
Electronics Engineering our final product. Overall, my experience in this project has been incredibly rewarding, and I'm grateful for the
ITE College West opportunity to have worked with such a talented and dedicated team.
