April MacKinnon is a mother of three and lifelong
gardener who enjoys exploring the link between
wellness and nature. She is passionate about natural
living, the blend of entrepreneurship and
motherhood, and business built on relationships.
Leaving behind a career in civil engineering, April
forged a path in entrepreneurship within the birth
community in Halifax, NS and now as owner of
Anointment Natural Skin Care whose refined
April MacKinnon mission is to formulate and manufacture products
ELP13 that support women in their life transitions (puberty,
CEO pregnancy, postpartum, menopause) in Sackville,

MacDougall Steel Erectors Inc (MSE) is one of
Atlantic Canada’s largest structural steel and
miscellaneous metals fabricator and installer,
located in Borden-Carleton, PE. Established in
1998, Kirk joined the company in 2013 as the Chief
Financial Officer and has since been appointed to
CEO. Since 2013 MSE has completed
approximately 20 million in capital additions and
has increased capacity by six fold. MSE completes
projects all across Canada, from British Columbia,
to Nunavut to Newfoundland and the North-East
USA, mainly Boston and New York.
Kirk is also involved in a few real estate properties
and enjoys working on his hobby farm, growing
about 200 acres of grains and cereals.
Family has always been most important to Kirk,
married in 2013 to Mallory, they now have 2
children, Nate, five years old and Molly, two years
Kirk MacKinnon old.
