2. Discuss with your friends and share the result of the
discussion to whole class
Objective:
The objective of this class discussion is to explore and understand the
diverse ways in which learning needs can vary among individuals. By
discussing the factors that contribute to this variability, we aim to
appreciate the importance of adapting our teaching methods to
accommodate the unique learning requirements of all students.

45 minutes
Format
Introduction (5 minutes)
The lecturer introduces the topic by explaining the significance of recognizing and
addressing diverse learning needs in an educational setting.
Group Discussion (outside of class/Asyccronous, 15 minutes)
Students are divided into small groups of 4-5 members. Each group is given a set of
questions related to learning variability to discuss among themselves.
Sample Questions:
a. How do you believe individuals' prior experiences impact their learning needs?
b. Can you think of instances where cultural differences affected how someone learns?
c. What role do personal motivations play in determining learning needs?
d. How might different learning styles affect how students grasp and retain information?
Group Sharing (10 minutes)
Each group presents a summary of their discussions to the entire class. A designated
group spokesperson highlights the key points and insights that emerged during their
conversation.
Class Discussion (10 minutes)
The lecturer facilitates an open class discussion by inviting students to share their
thoughts, questions, and personal experiences related to learning variability.
Encourage students to provide examples that illustrate the diversity of learning
needs they've encountered.
Guided Reflection (5 minutes)
The lecturer guides students to reflect on how understanding the variability of
learning needs can influence their approach to teaching, communication, and
collaboration in both educational and professional contexts.
Homework Assignment (Individual)
Reflect on a personal experience where you encountered someone with different
learning needs from your own. Write a brief reflection paper discussing how this
experience impacted your understanding of the importance of tailored education.
