          Colour Education

                         Pathway

Following an extensive period of planning, the focus for future development is the SDC’s unique Colour
Education Pathway. This spans all ages and career stages from early years through formal education
and employment for the technical dyeing and textile design sectors.

The technical and design pathways are linked through the SDC’s Education, Qualifications and
          Accreditation Board (EQAB).

At the heart of the teaching is the SDC’s Virtual Learning Environment, colour.network, which went live
in 2017. This modular based approach allows people to tailor their learning, depending on their career
stage and interests. All the SDC’s courses are developed by a team of effective, passionate educators,
resulting in high impact, immersive learning.

2017 was a year of development for all the SDC’s education and qualifications, which will continue
          throughout 2018 and beyond.

enjoying the colour science activities, workshops and presentations we offer to our younger learners, local
communities, families, teachers and adults. We achieved a significant increase in engagement with families
through our outreach work at festivals including: Bradford Science Festival, Deershed Festival, Otley
