Designer’s Coloration
Certificate
The SDC has engaged with individuals from a design background for many years but has never had a
formal qualification pathway in place for this market. In development, this new qualification is for those
individuals. This one-year course introduces some of the scientific terms used in the textile industry and
aims to build confidence and colour communication skills and knowledge. It will enable students to take
a more active role in their workplace.
In 2017 the syllabus for the course was developed and
refined, guided by the Design Pathway Working Group and
EQAB. This will be progressed further in 2018.
