Windows

There is no cluster standard for replacement windows.

All window replacements require an application to be submitted for review by the
Design Review Board.

Windows and Sliding Glass Doors

Configuration Standards

• Frame Material: Metal clad wood or vinyl
• Frame Color: Bronze or dark brown (approved sample in color palette)
• Configurations:
o Bypass sliding windows may be replaced with bypass sliding or casement
windows
o Single hung windows may be replaced with single or double hung windows
o Bypass sliding windows 3’ high or less may be replaced with bypass sliding
or awning style windows
o Fixed windows may be replaced with stationary casement windows

Stipulations:

• That a dark brown color sample be submitted to staff for approval and added to the color
palette for windows and sliding glass doors in Westcove Page 1 of 3cluster.
• That window/sliding glass door trim (wood around the window and door frames) must be
maintained or replaced with 1.5"-2" wide clear Redwood or clear Cedar, stained to match
existing siding.
• That overall replacement window frame size cannot be greater or less than 3/4" of existing
rough opening size in either dimension.
• That single and double hung units must retain existing sash ratios of 2/3 upper sash and 1/3
lower sash.
• That replacement window and door frame dimensions must conform to the following:

Bypass Sliding Window frame:
• top frame width 2 3/8”- 3 ¾”
• side frame width 2 ¼”- 3 ¾”
• bottom frame width 3 ¾”- 4 ¾”
• center frame width 2 ”- 3 ¾”

Bypass Sliding Patio Door frame:
• top frame width 3”- 4 ¾”
• side frame width 2 3/4”- 3 ¾”
