Fences
• Side gates shall be allowed on front fencing. Front fences and gates shall be painted or stained/sealed to match the
house color.
• Front fence boards shall be clear grade (without knots) and for homes with natural color siding, either cedar or
redwood.
• Interior facing surfaces of front and rear enclosed fences and sheds shall be of any approved house siding or accent
panel color OR a clear stain OR Flood CWF-UV5 Natural Wood sealant.
• Homes with front elevated decks may include a 6” ‘window’ feature at the top of any front fencing. This design
feature should be maintained unless given express DRB approval to alter/remove.
• Interior facing surfaces of front and rear enclosed fences and sheds shall be of any approved house siding or accent
panel color OR a clear stain or Flood CWF-UV5 Natural Wood sealant.
• Front fence shall be constructed with tongue-and-groove 1” x 6” wide boards with 4” x 4” support posts topped by a
2” x 6” cap and either a 1” x 2” or a 1” x 4” trim board just under the cap.
• Front fences shall be of ‘as built’ height.
• Rear dividing fence shall be 5” or 6” vertical boards with butt joints and a 2” x 6” cap on top and a 1” x 3” horizontal
trim board at top and bottom of fence, or shall follow the standards for front fences with tongue and groove 1” x 6”
wide boards with 4” x 4” support posts topped by a 2” x 6” cap and either a 1” x 2” or 1” x 4” trim board just under
the cap.
• Rear fences can be cedar, redwood, or pine with a few knots. A horizontal bracing board may be added to span the
mid-level of the back side of the fencing.
• Dividing fences shall be left to weather OR painted the house siding color OR coated with either a clear sealant, with
Flood CWF-UV5 Natural Wood sealant, or a similar product.
• Rear of patios can be left open in back without fencing OR enclosed with fencing to match the style and construction
of the dividing fence or the front fence. If enclosed, fence can be half height OR the height of the dividing fence.
