Front Door Sidelites
• Original sidelites may be modified to reduce the size of the window, except that such modification shall not reduce
the window area more than three (3) inches on the left and right sides and no more than nine (9) inches at the top and
bottom.
• Decorative sidelites (windows that include caming) shall be permitted on a case-by-case basis upon approval by the
Wethersfield Cluster Association Board of Directors (“WCA BOD”). Other decorative sidelite modifications may be
approved by the WCA BOD upon request.
• Sidelites may be of clear glass, frosted glass, or textured glass with no color or caming.
• Size allowed: Full lite, as original, or full lite (as offered by front door retailers as of March 2022) which have a
surrounding frame and a lower panel up to nine (9) inches.
• For sidelites with a smaller glass area and surrounding trim, the trim color must match the door color, which if
desired, may be a different color from the door frame and accent panel. The frame and the accent panel must match
each other. The front door, sidelite trim, frame, and accent panel may all be the same color if desired. All colors must
come from the standard palette.
• Several homes have the builder original “double-sidelite”, which can either remain the same, or follow the updated
standards above.
• Sidelite replacement shall require submission of a DRB application for Staff review.
• All nonconforming sidelites shall be brought into conformance with WCA cluster standards at the time of a house
sale.
• One sidelite on the left side of the front entry door is required.
