Benefits for the Membership
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Management and staff proved capable of pivoting to both maintain the Club’s service
standard and deliver consistently memorable Member experiences in rapidly-changing circumstances.
With imaginative offerings and continued culinary and service excellence, The YORK Club will remain a first-class experience
throughout the Renovation Project period; we expect and encourage the membership to continue using the Club throughout the
construction period.
The YORK Club has never been healthier, in terms of both usage and overall membership numbers, and the modernization of its
facilities is imperative for its operational continuation as a world-class Club.
Today, the Club’s competition is not merely in the private club industry; it is hotels and restaurants across the city, country and
world.
It has been more than a century since the last time a project of this scope — the original Frank Darling addition of 1911, built two
years after the Club’s creation — was undertaken at 135 St. George Street; the Renovation Project is being put forward to cement
The YORK Club as a bastion of excellence for the next century of membership.
The refreshed Main Floor facilities will ensure Members continue to choose the Club as host for their most important personal
and/or professional events; following the Renovation Project, we expect private dining numbers to exceed pre-Renovation levels
based on the variety of spaces available, quality of food service and enhanced capacity.
Our brand-new Kitchen will ensure our culinary team is able to deliver and improve upon the Club’s existing food quality standard
and be better-equipped to manage multiple functions while still servicing a la carte dining.
The reimagined Garden space will have both increased and more flexible capacity; more Members will be able to experience
marquee events such as the annual Garden Party, Welcome Back Reception, etc., while the popular summer space will also be
dividable to host separate functions simultaneously.
Critically, facility improvements will help massively in the retention of quality front of house and back of house staff.
