scaffolding and scaffolding equipment.
CLEARING THE WORK AREA
After the safety system is dismantled it will then be time to clear the work area, this will
involve recovering and removing tools, equipment, and materials from your work area.
When doing this, you must ensure that you follow worksite procedures and wear the right
PPE.
On a worksite, rubbish and other building debris can be a tripping hazard for workers and
may have a negative impact on the environment. It will be your job to make sure that all
rubbish is collected, sorted and removed or recycled correctly. Your worksite policies and
procedures will outline the environmental requirements for doing this; you will need to
make sure that you are following these so that everything is done in a safe way.
When your work is finished (job completed or just finished for the day) you need to make
sure the area is tidy before you leave.
DISPOSE OF OR RECYCLE MATERIALS
Materials used on the worksite may be recycled in line with organization policy,
regulations, and legislation. Waste disposes al is a major cost to the business and the
community.
Reducing waste by reducing your usage, reusing when possible and recycling when
appropriate is a cost saving to all.
When cleaning up a worksite, you can separate and isolate materials which can be reused
or recycled.
If employees are educated to identify reusable materials and policies and processes are in place to
dispose of site materials which can be recycled, this process will simply become part of the
general site clean-up.
