RIIWHS204E-Work safely at heights

IDENTIFY, MANAGE, AND REPORT POTENTIAL RISKS AND
             HAZARDS

Where a task involves working at heights and there is a risk of injury from falling, the employer
should conduct a hazard assessment and implement risk control measures.

             HIERARCHY OF CONTROL

The workplace safety Hierarchy of Control includes the use of personal protective
equipment, administrative controls, engineering controls, substitution, and elimination
              measures.

             RISK MANAGEMENT

A risk management process involving the following four steps can assist in fall
              prevention:

 Hazard identification - identify potential fall hazards

 Risk assessment - determine how likely it is that people can fall and how
                         serious that may be

 Control risks - identify and implement the most appropriate control measure to
eliminate or minimize the risk of falling

 Review - review control measures to ensure the y are working as planned. 15
