LOCATE MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT ENSURING THAT THEY ARE
                                SAFELY SECURED AND DISTRIBUTED

Trying to carry heavy or bulky materials up to the work area can be very dangerous, and you
could lose your balance and fall or drop items down on people below.

Your workplace will have various procedures in place that you will need to follow to
ensure that materials are safely secured and distributed, and will not fall on anyone and
               injure them.

Workplace procedures followed to locate materials and equipment may include:

                        The use of:

                              o Conveyors
                              o Hoists

                              o Cranes
                              o Elevating work platforms
 Keep tools safely secured on a tool belt or in a toolbox inside a work platform

 Netting around the outside of the building to prevent falls and items dropping

 Correctly lifting and carrying techniques
 Not carrying items when climbing a ladder

Workplace procedures will differ slightly from site -to-site, you will need to ensure that
you have read and understood the procedures that relate to you and you work.

You also need to use common sense, if something seems danger then it probably there is
a chance that you may injure yourself or someone by using the tools the way you are or
by carrying that item, then you need to find a safer way to do it.

The common injuries while handling manually are -lower back injuries like muscle
strains, or joint sprains & Disc prolapses known as “bulges

If you are ever unsure about anything on the worksite, you need to seek assistance from
               your supervisor or manager.
