Top Ten All-Breed Chows
The Top Ten All-Breed Chows are those chows that have the highest numbers in all dogs, all breeds,
defeated. All-Breed means defeating breeds other than just Chow Chows. This includes Group Placements,
Reserve Bests in Show, and Bests in Show. Chow Chow Breed Points are ONLY included as All-Breed Points
when BOB or BOS at Chow Chow Specialty Shows. If there was a Designated Specialty, where the classes
at the show were considered a Chow Chow Specialty, then BOB is only counted as All-Breed Points if the
Breed winner did NOT place in Group. (If the Chow Chow places in the Group, you’re already counting all
of the Chows as part of the Group number.) However, BOS at Specialty Shows of any type do get to include
             those points as All-Breed Points.
Counting Best in Show Points is probably the easiest. You take the total number of dogs present at the show,
and subtract yourself. So if there were 1200 dogs in competition, you subtract yourself. That gives you 1199
             All-Breed Points.

Counting Reserve Best in Show Points allows you to count every dog in the show minus yourself and the
number of dogs competing in the Group that the BIS winner came from. Let’s say you have 1200 dogs in
competition. Your Chow won RBIS and the Akita won BIS. The Working Group had 187 dogs competing.
So, you would take 1200 minus 187 minus 1 (yourself). The total All-Breed Points you earned for your RBIS
             is 1012.
Counting Group Placement Points (for both All-Breed and Non-Sporting Group Shows) allows you to
count every dog in the group in competition except for the breeds that placed ahead of you. Group First
is the easiest. If there were 102 Non-Sporting dogs in competition and you win the Group, you subtract
yourself for a total of 101 All-Breed Points. If you win a Group Third with 102 dogs in Competition, you
subtract the breeds that placed ahead of you. So, if the Frenchie with 32 in competition wins the Group First
             and the Dalmatian with 16 in Competition wins Group Second, you take 102 – 32 – 16 – 1 (yourself) for 53
All-Breed Points. If you have a Group Second, Third or Fourth, plan to get your calculator out so you can
subtract as you look up the numbers of the breeds ahead of you.
You don’t actually have to sit and count dogs. If you’re using AKC.org like you should be, you can see the
numbers for each breed in a group and then breakdowns for each breed in one place. Just go to AKC.org
and search for “Events Calendar” and you want to end up with a page that looks like this:

Pick the type of show, breed and month the click on Find Event and you’ll get this:
