PRESIDENT HAPPY NEW YEAR!
VISION 2020
OM THE As we look to 2020, the vision of your leadership team is to continue to work
residential homebuilding and remodeling industry. One of our top priorities is to
FR JEFF CZAR diligently to meet our members needs and to be an advocate and voice for the
President strengthen our government affairs and advocacy outreach program.
We have some challenges facing us this year. Our friend, Councilman Clayton Perry is leaving his Council seat to run for
Bexar County Commissioner and Congressman Will Hurd is not running for re-election. Congressman Hurd has been a true
champion for us in Washington and will be missed. We have no growth City Councils in more than one City we develop and
build in and changes are being made to several Unified Development Codes that will increase the cost of housing.
There is truly strength in numbers, and we need to be united to fight needless over regulation and increased fees. We
need to band together to elect pro-housing candidates to local City Councils in our 22-county jurisdiction, to the Texas
Legislature and to the House and Senate in Washington, DC.
Membership will continue to be a priority. I want to personally thank each of you for your membership and please let
any member of the 2020 leadership team know if you are having any issues or if we can help you in any way. There are
several great benefits available to you and your company in 2020—from our Association health insurance plan to NAHB’s
national discounts with major vendors and suppliers.
Education and training are at the top of the list as well. We will once again work with the City of San Antonio to get
our Builder and Remodeler construction classes accredited by the Development Services Department in advance. This
will allow our registered Builder and Remodeler members to get credit for the required hours needed for their Builder
Registration with the City.
Education and Training will continue to be a priority. You will not want to miss the upcoming Builder classes.
