FR OM THE EXECUTIVE VICE
PRESIDENT
affect you and your business. I want to extend a special thank you to Michael Moore, a
GSABA Past President with Ironstone Development who chairs the State Government
Affairs Committee.
I’d also like to thank the local Government Affairs Chairs who have invested an incredible
amount of time representing GSABA and our membership. Thank you, D.R. Horton’s Joe
Leos, Tim Pruski with Bella Vista Homes, and Shad Schmid with Armadillo Homes, for all
you have done in 2019. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to every member who led or
served on a City Team or attended a meeting with city representatives, elected officials,
and CPS Energy.
City Councilman John Courage has proposed limiting construction hours. He also has a
vision that all future single-family homes will be built pre-wired to accommodate electric
cars and solar panels. Joe, Tim, Shad, and I recently met with Councilman Courage and his
Chief of Staff to discuss his proposal and the cost impact on single-family construction. It
was a great meeting, and we will continue our dialogue with Councilman Courage.
We have a coffee meeting scheduled with San Antonio City Councilman Manny Pelaez
at the Association on Friday, January 10th at 9:30 am, please join us. We are working to
strengthen our relationships with pro-business council members in the cities our builders,
remodelers, and members are pulling permits. If you have an interest in attending these
meetings or being part of a City Team, please reach out to me.
Thank you for being a member of the Association, and please don’t hesitate to call me at
210-696-3800 if I can assist you in any way.
Warm regards,
Congratulations!
