CAVITE STATE UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN (2017-2022)
University Vision and Mission
What does the Cavite State University want to become? The University envisions itself
as “the premier University in historic Cavite recognized for excellence in the
development of morally upright and globally competitive individuals”. To achieve
this vision, the University “shall provide excellent, equitable and relevant educational
opportunities in the arts, science and technology through quality instruction and
relevant research and development activities. It shall produce professional, skilled
and morally upright individuals for global competitiveness.”
In addition to the vision and mission, the University shall abide by and adhere to its
commitment to the tenets of Truth, Excellence and Service.
The University has already set the stage for what it wants to be in no uncertain terms
– to become one among the best state colleges and universities noted for excellence in
instruction, research and community service.
The Planning Process
A Management Training and Strategic Planning Workshop was held on 24-27 January
2017 to define the overall direction with which the University shall proceed to be a Global
University by 2020. As provided for in the University Manual of Operations, “the University
shall adhere to educational institution planning requirements which are: a) bottoms – up
process within the academic community; b) comprehensive that shall include all the key
activity areas of the University; c) designed to fulfill the vision, mission and objectives of the
University; d) respond to the changes in the environment in the region and in the country
including the increasing demands for global linkages; and e) in line with the national
development agenda and the development agenda for higher education in the country.”
Further, the University development plan shall be “in consonance with the requirements of the
overall regional and national development agenda and with the Commission on Higher
Area X: Administration
