                                                4.  Membership  and  leadership  in  professional,
                                                   community, and government or non-government
                                                   organizations.
                                                5.  Professorial  Lecturer.  Appointment  to  this  rank
                                                   requires a Doctorate Degree. In the absence of a
                                                   Doctorate  Degree,  all  of  the  following  must  be
                                                   considered  as  a  substitute  for  the  doctoral
                                                   requirements,  except  for  those  where  the
                                                   terminal degree is a master’s degree.

                                                6.  Recognition  in  the  form  of  an  award,  grant,  or
                                                   fellowship  by  a  reputable  and  recognized
                                                   national/international  organization  for  one’s
                                                   outstanding  contribution  to  the  field  of
                                                   specialization;
                                                7.  Consistent  involvement  in  a  major  research
                                                   project  either  as  proponent  or  as  major
                                                   consultant;
                                                8.  Significant  service  to  the  academic  community
                                                   and/or  active  membership  and  involvement  in
                                                   University/College,  professional,  national,  or
                                                   international organization.
                              c)  Termination  of  Appointment.  The  precise  terms  and
                                 conditions  of  every  appointment  shall  be  stated  in  writing.  In
                                 case  of  non-  renewal  of  a  temporary  appointment,  the  person
                                 concerned shall be informed in writing at least thirty (30) days
                                 before  the  termination  date.  An  appointment  with  tenure  may
                                 be terminated only by resignation, death or removal for cause
                                 after due process.

                                         Appointees under temporary status do not have security
                                 of  tenure  and  may  be  separated  from  the  service,  with  or
                                 without  cause.  As  such,  they  shall  not  be  considered  illegally
                                 terminated and hence, not entitled to claim back wage and/or
                                 salaries  and  task  for  reinstatement  to  their  positions  (MC  No.
                                 20, s. 2002).

                                 ▪  Advancement refers to the upgrading of the academic rank
                                     of a faculty from one sub-rank to a higher sub-rank within a
                                     rank  and  accompanied  by  an  increase  in  salary  in
                                     accordance with the provision of the Salary Standardization
                                     Act.  The  Board  of  Regents  approves  advancement  and
