5. Operation Tips

5.1) Tips for Best Results

 In addition to varying the cutter type, it able to achieve different finishes by
adjusting the spacing and pattern of the cutter assemblies. The closer the cutters
are spaced, the smoother the finish. A wide spacing achieves a coarse finish.
Some contractors bring drums outfitted with different cutter types and
arrangements to each job.

 A scarifier generally leaves behind a rough finish and may create ridges in the
concrete. On jobs where there is a need for a smoother finish, it is require to grind
the surface after scarifying.

 Although both tungsten carbide and steel cutters can perform similar tasks,
tungsten carbide cutters are more aggressive and longer lasting, making them
practical for jobs requiring high production rates or scarifying of high-psi
concrete. Steel cutters have a shorter life.

6. Inspection, Maintenance, and Cleaning

WARNING! Always make sure the engine/motor is completely shut down and the
power cable is removed from the (CES-200E) scarifier prior to performing any service,
maintenance, or cleaning of the unit.

6.1) General Checklists

It is recommended to conduct an inspection on scarifier before and after operation.

Parts Checklists to follow
Structure Inspect the general condition of the scarifier.
Frame Check for screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked, bent,
or broken parts, damaged motor parts, and any other condition that may
affect the safe operation of the scarifier. If abnormal noise or vibration
occurs, have the problem corrected before further use. Do not use
damaged equipment.

Maintenance Clean the scarifier after each use. Exercise caution to avoid getting water
Storage on the engine/motor and electrical components.
Always store the scarifier in a clean, dry, safe location out of reach of
children and other unauthorized people.
