Sherborn Boy Scouts - Troop 1
Annual Report - 2019
A. Troop Programs and Activities:
Sherborn continues to enjoy an active and engaged Boy Scout Troop due to the support of Pilgrim Church, our
Chartered Organization, and the Sherborn community at large. Our Scouts performed many civic duties including
leading Eagle projects, participating in Town events like the Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day services, and
providing support via many community service projects.
As many are aware, Boy Scouting has undergone significant changes nationally due to demographics and to more
inclusive policies. Locally, we experienced a change as our Knox Trail Council, based in Marlborough, merged
with Old Colony Council, based on the South Shore, to form Mayflower Council, which is now based in
Marlborough. It was felt that this merger will better leverage Council leadership and financial resources.
Troop 1 had another active year with programs to challenge the older scouts and to provide them a chance to lead
and mentor the younger boys. Our goals are to have fun, learn new skills, build confidence and leadership ability,
serve the community, and provide recognition and rank advancement to encourage participation.
th
On May 19 , we conducted an Eagle Scout Court of Honor led by Charlie Williams to recognize Nate Sullivan for
