programs, outreach and expressions of faith.

• The report prepared by the 2020 committee is just the beginning. Many questions remain:
When? How? Who? So, the committee proposed that a new Implementation Team be
established to continue the work.
Motion: A motion was made to acknowledge with gratitude the work of the Pilgrim 2020
committee, and to officially receive the Pilgrim 2020 report.
It was seconded.
Vote: The motion passed unanimously.
Motion: A motion was made to affirm and embrace the three cultural shifts as described in the
Pilgrim 2020 report, and to agree to focus our attention on them as a critical foundation for moving
forward as a faith community.
It was seconded.
Vote: The motion passed unanimously.
Motion: A motion was made to establish a 2020 Implementation Team to keep our attention focused
on the cultural shifts and to facilitate discussion and planning for approved Pilgrim 2020
recommendations as well as new or improved programming initiatives.
It was seconded.
The floor was open for discussion. Some members of the 2020 Committee will continue to
serve to the new Implementation Team for continuity, but there will be openings for others to join.
Several people have already expressed interest and Pastor John invited anyone else who is interested
to contact him.
Vote: The motion passed unanimously.
Motion: A motion was made to implement recommendation C, to immediately initiate an Essential
Audit of all our committees and ministries, as described in the Pilgrim 2020 report.
It was seconded.
The floor was open for discussion. In response to questions of process, Pastor John replied
that he will lead this effort in cooperation with the Parish Board, staff, existing
committees/ministries and the Implementation Team.
Vote: The motion passed unanimously.
Motion: A motion was made to refer the subject matter relating to recommendation A) beginning
the process of becoming an Open & Affirming church; B)setting aside $100,000 for the establishment
of the Pilgrim Growth Fund; and C) establishing a Social Justice group back to the Pilgrim 2020
committee and the newly established Implementation Team, so that they might schedule and host
