2020 Committee / Implementation Team  2020 Annual Report

             Elmore Alexander, Diana Beaudet, Matt Beaudet, Annemarie Bowen, John Bowen, Kirk Dragsbaek, Kay
             Dunlap, John Hudson, Anna Scott Johnson, Carole Marple, Frank Villa; and Peg Robinson, Betsy Rigby,
             and Eric Dragsbaek

             At this past years’ Annual Meeting on February 2, 2020  (see detailed Minutes of the meeting on the following
             pages) Matt Beaudet and Kirk Dragsbaek presented the 2020 Committee’s findings to the congregation. After the
             presentation, the congregation voted on the following:
                ➢  to officially receive the Pilgrim 2020 report.
                ➢  to affirm and embrace the three cultural shifts as described in the Pilgrim 2020 report, and to agree to focus
                    our attention on them as a critical foundation for moving forward as a faith community.
                ➢  to dissolve the 2020 Committee and establish a 2020 Implementation Team to keep our attention focused on
                    the cultural shifts and to facilitate discussion and planning for the approved 2020 Committee
                    recommendations as well as new or improved programming initiatives.
                ➢  to implement the recommendation of immediately initiating an Essential Audit of all our committees
                    ministries. The audit was begun and the information collected. It is presently being reviewed and
                    consolidated for further review and recommendation.
                ➢  for the committee to schedule and host several open discussion sessions on each of the below
                    recommendations:
                       o  A) beginning the process of becoming an Open & Affirming church;
                       o   B) setting aside $100,000 for the establishment of the Pilgrim Growth Fund;
                       o  C ) establishing a Social Justice group
             so that they can bring forward for discussion the feedback and findings from the discussion sessions at a Special
             Congregational Meeting to be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020

             The onset of the pandemic six weeks after the above was approved and implemented came to a halt and the special
             congregational meeting scheduled for March 22  was cancelled.

             The Implementation Team hopes to continue with the work and recommendations of the 2020 Committee in the near
             future and when we can all gather together again.
