Pine-Richland School District FAQs
Fees, Textbooks, Technology, and Supplies
Q: How will Spring Activity Fees be returned? Can they be applied to the 2020-
2021 school year?
A: Any secondary student who only participated in a spring sport only during the 2019-2020
school year will be refunded the full activity fee of $100. Families of students in grades 7-11 will
have the option to receive the refund or transfer the $100 to next school year. As a reminder,
students pay a one-time fee of $100 to participate in as many activities as they are interested in
over the course of a school year. Click here for more details related to activity fees. All seniors
who only participated in a spring sport will receive a full refund.
Q: When will parents, guardians, or students be able to access the building to
retrieve items from lockers and/or cubbies?
A: Due to the public health and social distancing requirements in place at this time, the district
cannot support large amounts of student or parent visitors. As outlined in the Five Key Points
podcast, students in grades K - 11 will also be given a set of learning activities and expectations
for the summer. Eventual procedures will be communicated by building principals in mid-
to-late May.
Q: How will the return of library books be handled? Will there be late fees?
A: Library books may be dropped off at the building in designated locations when parents are
permitted to enter for retrieval of student belongings from lockers and/or cubbies. There are no
late fees.
Q: How and when will textbooks and Chromebook returns be handled? Will they be
disinfected upon return?
A: Seniors will also need to return Chromebooks and textbooks/materials through a process to-
be-determined that connects to graduation practice. Students in K - 11 will keep those items for
summer work. More information will be sent at a later date to describe a specific schedule for
the return of materials. Any returned Chromebook will be disinfected before it is returned to use
in the buildings.
