Pine-Richland School District FAQs

                                               Miscellaneous Items

Q: How are PTOs going to vote for new board members? Will the current board
members remain in place until elections can be held?
A: Some PTO boards may choose to conduct virtual meetings. However, if the PTO board
member is returning to the same school, then individual PTO boards may consider having the
board member(s) maintain the position until a future meeting/election occurs. If a PTO board
member is transitioning to another school, then individual PTO Boards may consider a
temporary replacement (volunteer - board appointed) until a future meeting/election occurs.

               Graduation

Q: When will Commencement exercises be held for the Class of 2020?

A: The graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020 is scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2020, at
               7 p.m. with a rain date of Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. A traditional ceremony will be
held if health and safety guidelines permit. A “modified” version of a traditional ceremony that
limits the number of physical spectators will also be developed if public health guidelines still
limit the size of groups. In fact, a continuum with many options is being developed. A virtual
version of the ceremony is also being developed and will be aired on Friday, June 5, 2020, on
PRTV and streamed live on the website if social distancing guidelines do not permit a traditional
ceremony. If a virtual ceremony is held on June 5th, the district will offer an additional
traditional graduation ceremony on either Friday, July 24th or Friday, July 31st at 7:00
p.m. The final date will be determined based on the number of seniors available on the
two dates. Seniors will receive a survey to select the date or dates that work best for
each person. This will only be possible if safety and health guidelines permit a traditional
ceremony or some modification to a traditional ceremony.

Q: If a virtual graduation ceremony is necessary, how will seniors receive their
               diplomas?
A: If a virtual graduation ceremony is necessary, diplomas will be distributed at Pine-Richland
High School. Specifics related to diploma distribution will be shared in late May based on social
distancing guidelines by public health experts.

Q: How and when will caps and gowns be distributed?
A: Caps and gowns were ordered by most seniors. Currently, approximately 70 seniors still
need to order their caps and gowns. The high school office is contacting those families. Caps
and gowns should arrive at the high school in mid-May. Based on current health and safety
guidelines, the distribution process will be communicated in mid-May.
