Seventh-Day Adventists believe this. But when
we come to the Bible, sleep refers to the body
and not the soul when we read through
especially the New Testament. And there are
passages in Philippians 1, verses 21 through 23,
and other passages that deal with the saints of
God. Paul made the statement that it would be
far better for him to depart and to be with
Christ. He wasn’t talking about resurrection; he
was talking about death, through death. In
Revelation 6, verses 9, 10, and 11, there are
some saints in that passage who have been
martyred. They’re at the altar and they’re
wearing robes, and they’re crying out and
wanting God to take vengeance upon them who
are on the earth. I don’t understand all the details
about those who are deceased, but the Bible
doesn’t say that they are unconscious and they
